The Upstanding Immigrant: Screening and Discussion

Filmmaker Hector Ortiz and the Richmond Arts and Culture Commission (RACC) present a free screening and panel discussion in the theme of "The Upstanding Immigrant", as part of the inaugural Bay Area United Against Hate Week events.

Mr. Ortiz won a RACC neighborhood mini-grant to complete his short film "Announcement"—which focuses on how the end of DACA impacts one Dreamer’s family. Ortiz has curated this evening. The film screening will be followed by a panel discussion led by the filmmaker, RACC commissioners Tony Tamayo and Silvia Ledezma, and special guest Contra Costa County Supervisor John Gioia.

Doors open at 7:00 PM. Screening and discussion will begin at 8:00 PM.
